Area residents enjoyed another glorious day at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort, even if many of the players didn't.

The fabled Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort claimed another set of victims during the Tampa Bay Championship on Saturday.

Most of the golfers who topped the leader board when play began on Saturday tumbled from the ranks by the time the third round concluded, making for a wide-open race to the finish on Sunday.

Thirty-six hole leader Shawn Stefani shot a three-over par 74 to fall two shots back of co-leaders Justin Leonard, Kevin Streelman and George Coetzee, who all sit at six-under after 54 holes.

Other players who were lurking near the top to start the day struggled as well; K.J. Choi and Adam Scott both shot five-over par to tumble five shots behind the leaders, while Jason Duffner shot three-over for fall four shots back.

Yes, the day belonged to the course, both between the ropes and beyond.

Attendees enjoyed the mild Tampa Bay weather, which was much warmer than when the tournament began on Thursday, and fans enjoyed collecting autographs from players following their rounds.

Safety Harbor resident Debbie White, who attended the event on Thursday and Saturday, told Patch she always enjoys coming to the Innisbrook tournament.

"Innisbrook is such an awesome venue and as a golfer I am always taken with how beautiful it is, how nice the people are and what a challenge the courses are," she said.

"I was lucky enough to go to the Masters and the Ryder Cup in 2012 and Innisbrook is so easy to come and go and see the players," she added. "It was an awesome experience to go to the other tournaments, but Innsbrook makes it more enjoyable and just easy to attend."
