Clearwater Chargers Coach to Play for Rowdies

Safety Harbor's Kyle Clinton, who coaches the U14 boys premier team, signed a two-year contract to play as a midfielder with the Tampa Bay Rowdies this week.

Kyle Clinton, a Clearwater Chargers coach and Safety Harbor native, signed a two-year contract to play as a midfielder with the Tampa Bay Rowdies this week.

Clinton, a Countryside High School graduate, joined the Rowdies as a trialist at the start of the 2013 season, according to a release by the team.

Already he has seen some preseason work. Clinton started his first match against Saint Leo March 23.
