Pinellas Students Behind Peers in New FCAT Results
Scores are in for 4th-10th grades. Tests were given in reading, math and science. Use this search engine to look up your child's school.
Pinellas County students lag behind their peers statewide in reading, math and science, according to FCAT results released Friday by the Department of Education.
Overall, Pinellas County students fell below the state average in all but two grades on the reading, math and science portions of the FCAT for the 2012-2013 school year, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

FCAT results were released in:
- Reading, grades four to 10,
- Math, grades four to eight,
- Science, grades five and eight.
Across Pinellas County, 6th, 8th and 10th-graders had higher reading scores in 2012-13 than they did a year ago, Pinellas County school officials noted. Fourth-graders performed at the same level.

Overall, 4th and 7th-graders in Pinellas performed slightly better over last school year in math. Sixth- and 8th-graders performed the same.
Results for the end-of-course exams also were released. Officials noted that the biggest improvements statewide were with the end-of-course exams for biology and geometry.
