Homemade T-Shirts Turn Heads at Paul Ryan Rally

Romney-Ryan supporters, Sue and Steve Looker of Safety Harbor designed homemade t-shirts that feature a morphed likeness of President Barack Obama and former President Jimmy Carter. The t-shirts say "Barack O'Carter".

A couple of Safety Harbor residents attracted plenty of attention and some laughs at Saturday's rally for Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Paul Ryan at R.E. Olds Park in Oldsmar.

Romney-Ryan supporters, Sue and Steve Looker designed homemade t-shirts that take a jab at President Barack Obama and former President Jimmy Carter. The shirts feature a morphed likeness of Obama and Carter and say "Barack O'Carter".

The couple says the recent attacks against the U.S. embassy in Libya prompted their creative expression.  Sue Looker, 52, is not happy with the way she believes the Obama administration handled the attacks.

"What just happened in Libya. That's just totally unnecessary and ridiculous. Our ambassador was killed, our seals were killed, and he apologizes?"

Looker is referring to a statement released by the Romney campaign after the attacks that condemns the Obama administration's actions. The issue is discussed in this CNN blog.

Her husband, Steve, 55, who has a Ph.D. in Engineering, thinks the attacks are similar to a previous international crisis when a different democratic president was in office.

"It was the same deal as Carter in the eighties," said Steve, referring to the Iranian hostage situation in the 1980s, which some believe made former President Jimmy Carter look ineffectual.

The couple says they'll be voting for the Romney-Ryan ticket. They think Romney has strong family values which will benefit the country. They also think he'll bring lower taxes.

When asked if their lives are better, worse or about the same as four years ago, the Lookers say life is about the same for them.

LOL sebastian, thanks!! They must have seen the original Mitt-spew in the news, one would think; then the follow-up fact-checking stories they either 1) missed somehow, or 2) saw but couldn't factor in to their thinking because it disagreed with what they are determined to believe. Arrogance + ignorance is such a disturbing combo to observe. I hope it doesn't sink us as a country, and I hope instead things are headed for a turn-around. Enough is enough, too much is too much? Praise the lord.

This guy has a PH.d in Engineering, hope he didn't design any of the bridges we drive across everyday. The whole premise that President Obama apologizes for America is just false. Anyone with any intellegence at all recognizes that Romney/Ryan are really running a campaign of lies and distortions. To quote one of the last of truely great Republicans "You can lie to some of the people some of the time, but you can't lie to all the people all the time."

They should have made a George "Dubya" Romney t-shirt. I would be happy to buy that one.

Such a shame. Two of my favorite presidents photo-shopped badly.
