Tricia's Tribute Is Closed

The popular downtown art and antique shop recently announced its closing via a social media post.

Tricia's Tribute, a popular downtown Safety Harbor shop that was re-envisioning itself as a community art co-op, has closed.

According to a post on the company's Facebook page on June 21, the decision was made due to financial reasons:

"I regret to announce we are closing. Under advice and financial considerations this action, although very sad, is necessary to carry out immediately. Thanks to the many artists that shared the dream of selling art on Main Street in Safety Harbor."
Owner Patricia Farley told Patch a week before she closed that she hoped to turn the former antique and art shop, which she opened in December, into a home for area artists to showcase their work.

At the time Farley also mentioned that she needed more help financially in order to keep the place afloat.

"People say we need a place like this in the community, but we need to figure out how to sustain it," she said. "I'm not a charity, I'm a business owner."

Many people have left comments on the store's Facebook page, with most people expressing regret over the fact that Farley was forced to close.

"I'm very sorry to hear about this sad news. I really enjoyed talking to you even for a short time," Sue Cepeda Burkhard wrote.

"I'm so sorry Tricia. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication. I met some lovely people thanks to you!!," Ellen Lewbel Hack added.
