The downtown boutique put on a mini fashion show for Chamber of Commerce luncheon attendees at the Spa on Wednesday.

April Hayes wants everyone to know about the new items that are available at her downtown boutique, the Safety Harbor Galleria.

And what better way to help get the word out than with a fashion show?

The Galleria gals presented their first ever fashion show on Wednesday, at the Safety Harbor Spa and Resort during the monthly Chamber of Commerce luncheon, no less.

"In keeping with our tradition of keeping our members entertained, we're having a fashion show by the Safety Harbor Galleria today," Chamber spokesperson Normajeanne Anderson told the crowd.

Nine women, including Chamber co-chair Marie Padavich, walked the makeshift runway modeling some of the latest fashions and accessories that are available at the Galleria.

"This was our first ever Galleria fashion show, and I'm kind of glad there aren't too many people here," Hayes said. "It gives us an opportunity to work the kinks out."

"By the time we do our next one we will be very prepared."

Hayes said she plans on doing more shows to help promote her business, which is popular with people who know where it's located but tough to find if you're not familiar with the downtown.

So she is doing whatever she can, including a recent spring remodel and adding music during 3rd Friday, to draw attention to the shop.

"It's all about making people aware that we are here," she said.
