Harbor Views: Andrea Attacks

Tropical Storm Andrea brought rain, heavy winds and some anxious moments to Safety Harbor.

It was a wild end to the week this week, as the first named storm of the 2013 hurricane season rolled through the Tampa Bay area on Thursday.

While Tropical Storm Andrea didn't do a ton of damage here in the Harbor, she did cause some tense moments for people due to power outages, tree limbs falling and minor flooding in some areas.

Probably the biggest issue caused by the storm was a pair of runaway boats that the Safety Harbor Fire Department had to deal with.

Here you see three members of SHFD - Josh SaavedraLyall Heishman and Todd Allen - securing one of the vessels, Kerr's Gold, which broke loose from her moorings and had to be tied up before it drifted into the marina.

We've included some other shots, including a few that were uploaded to our Pics & Clips Gallery, from what was an eventful day in Safety Harbor and the rest of the Bay area. Thankfully it was a pretty mild one as far as tropical storms go.
