Pinellas County Sheriff's patrol deputies are investigating a Friday night crash in the Lincoln Highlands subdivision, in which a motorcycle reportedly struck a 16-year-old pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim of the reported hit and run sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release.

The crash occurred at 10th Avenue North and 7th Street North around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, the sheriff's office reports.

According to deputies, the 16-year-old girl was walking on the street with several of her friends heading north on 10th Avenue North. She turned west on Seventh Street North to head home, when she was reportedly struck by a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Seventh.

The teen was transported by air to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.

The motorcycle operator fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help identifying the motorcyclist. At this time, deputies do not have a description of the rider. But pieces of blue, broken plastic believed to be part of the motorcycle were found at the scene, according to the report.
